A big boost for translational cancer research

27/7/2011

Good news from the Cancer Institute NSW. The state government has announced it will invest $30 million in seven new "Translational Cancer Research Hubs" over the next decade. The program, managed by Cancer Institute NSW, will see big, resource-intensive research facilities opened in metropolitan and regional sites across the state. Each centre will commit to sharing its knowledge, resources and equipment with institutions and research partners around Australia and internationally. To find out more about what's happening in cancer care in New South Wales, go to the Cancer Institute NSW website: www.cancerinstitute.org.au

And if you have any news about practical improvements in cancer care in your area, please leave your comments here (especially if you.

Feedback on LifeSupport

24/7/2011

LifeSupport magazine has been available in newsagents for almost a month now. We've been very pleased to hear from everyday readers that the magazine is doing what it's supposed to do: calm the chaos and ease the confusion for people living with cancer and all those who support them.

Here's an example of the feedback we've received.

Hi, I want to congratulate you on your recent publication of the LifeSupport Magazine. I was diagnosed with GBM in Feb 2009, so Chris O'Brien's story has had a huge impact on me. I've had two craniotomys Mar 09 & Nov 09 and await my next MRI in August. I had to stumble through finding out a lot of the information which is now so eloquently compiled in this publication. I'm sure it will be of huge benefit to newly diagnosed cancer patients and many others.

Best Wishes
Lyn

We encourage you to get in touch with us, not just to share kind words but to offer practical suggestions on how we can develop the magazine and the website in the future. Please leave your comments right here!
